  1. Which key are we in ? On internet they say Bmin but it looks like Gmaj to me, with a borrowed A# maj …

    • The song is in D ! there’s a lot of borrowed chords in there so it can get confusing.
just for clarification I’m gonna explain all the chords in the progression that are not in the key of D.

Am7 : Normally in D major the A chord is major, but here the progression is leading to Gmaj7 and to get there they chose to play a 2-5-1 in the key of G (Am-D-G)
but they removed the 5(D) from the 2-5-1 so we’re left with Am7-Gmaj7
You can try adding D9 (LH: D F#/RH: C E) in between the Am7 and the Gmaj7 you’ll see that it fits

A#maj7 : Here we’re in the case of a 2-5-1 and also a Tritone substitution.
It’s a 2-5-1 in the key of D (Em-A-D), but then they substituted the 2 and 5 by their tritones; the tritone of E is A# and the tritone of A is D#
Also here they removed the 5(A) from the 2-5-1, resulting in A# going to D.
To prove my point again you can add D#maj7 (LH: D# A#/RH: D G) in between A#maj7 and Dmaj7 it’ll also fit.

      Hope it helped 😉
