Mac Miller – 2009

Learn how to play 2009 by Mac Miller on this week's piano tutorial.

  1. Klynik is rifing on a few more keys in here somewhere. Can you explain what he’s doing ?

    • it might be a quick A B before the C#

      • Found the timestamp 🙂 It looks like the pianist is using the F#m natural scale (F# G# A B C# D E F#) in order to fill in with some notes in the pauses. We encourage you to try and improvise your own fills using those notes, the same as the pianist is doing in the video you linked.
The first fill is indeed an A-B before the C#! Good ear 🙂

    • Hi! Thanks for your comment. While we strive for accuracy in our transcriptions, our tutorials are mostly pattern-focused, so that they are easy to follow and learn.

If you can precise a timestamp from the YouTube video you linked, I can write you what is happening there in detail!
