I can barely reach that D-F#. I can hit it but half the time it is hitting other keys. Does this get easier or does it mean I probably will never be able to reach it and need to play the D up an octave?

It’s not necessary to play that D-F#! Not everyone’s hand is that big, hahaha.
You can play the D one octave higher, or you can just play a D-D octave, and it will sound nice too 🙂
